FreeHands puts smiles on children's faces with #BackToSchoolDrive

On the 31st of August, 2019, the FreeHands Initiative, led by Ayomide Agbola, embarked on the #BackToSchoolDrive. Destination point was a slum in the outskirts of Lagos Island-Ikota around Lekki axis precisely.

The whole idea was to support nursery, primary and secondary school students with school bags and writing materials as schools would be resuming in September.

Based on the kind donations from sponsors and able volunteers, the outreach recorded a huge success. The smiles and joys of seeing not-so-priviledged children hopeful of returning to school equipped and motivated was a consolation event though 'area boys' tried to disrupt the kind gestures.

FreeHand Initiative, a non-profit organisation, run quarterly events aimed reaching out to the needy and less priviledged particularly those of school age. They are friends, helpers, givers and lovers. Their rationale is based on the mantra that 'the world needs more open hands'.
