In your experience, what are the common risks businesses face, and how do you help them mitigate these through legal frameworks?

Risk refers to the unpredictability of the turnout of events. Some may be favourable and some may be unfavourable. A business could face risk as a result of external factors or as a result of internal factors.

Examples of risks arising from external factors are- competition risk, environmental risk, market risk, and reputational risk.

Examples of risks arising from internal factors are- financial risk, operational risk, health and safety risk, compliance risk amongst others.

As a legal advisor, I help businesses mitigate and manage their risk by:

1. Reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements with utmost attention to detail to protect the interests of my clients.

2. I advise my clients on compliance with Nigerian laws and regulations.

3. I conduct risk assessments, develop and implement risk management strategies for my clients.

4. I advise my clients on the importance of being compliant with the corporate governance codes as they enhance the company’s formation, structure, and governance.

What inspired you to create the Eaglers Tribe?  Can you share some success stories from the Eaglers Tribe that highlight the impact the community has had on its members?

During my university days, I was impacted by books like Myles Munroe's 'The Pursuit of Purpose' and Rick Warren's 'The Purpose Driven Life'. These books helped me understand that purpose is not something we create, but rather discover. Through various leadership roles and experiences at the university, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, and it uncovered my passion for empowering women.

I have always been inspired by remarkable women who excel in multiple spheres of life, which include business, career, marriage, relationships, and spirituality. Trailblazers like Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Mrs Jumoke Adenowo, and Dr Olori Boye Ajayi demonstrate that achieving balance and success is possible.

This vision sparked the creation of The Eaglers Tribe, a community dedicated to empowering women to reach their full potential and live exemplary lives.

The Eaglers Tribe has been a beacon of empowerment for young women for over two years, impacting the lives of over 300 individuals.

One of our most notable achievements was our maiden Campus Wave Event held at Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2023. The event drew a remarkable attendance of over 250 students, providing them with valuable opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge even beyond the walls of a school. Our attendees benefited from tech opportunities, CV reviews, and an array of free giveaways.

At the Eaglers Tribe, we are committed to community engagement. We convene monthly Family Meetings where volunteers gather to share life progress, discuss challenges, celebrate successes, and exchange opportunities. Additionally, our quarterly Webinar Series offers expert-led sessions on various aspects of personal development, covering topics such as leadership, career growth, entrepreneurship, mental wellness, and networking.

The Eaglers Tribe holds an annual end-of-year bonding session. Members have experienced self-discovery and personal growth so far. Volunteers have acquired valuable skills leading to paid jobs. Through volunteering, members have also gained skills and confidence. The Eaglers Tribe inspires and empowers its members intentionally.

Can you list some women who have influenced you into the woman you have become and what endeared you to them?

Mrs Ibukun Awosika- I deeply admire Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, a trailblazing entrepreneur who founded her company in her 20s. Her enduring relevance and numerous achievements over the years are truly remarkable. What resonates with me most is her unwavering faith and humility, consistently attributing her successes to God. Her faith and humility make her an exemplary role model to me.

Dr Olori Boye Ajayi- 2022 marked a turning point for me when I discovered OBA's Twilight School session on 'Reinvention.' A friend's WhatsApp link led me to that eye-opening video, and I was hooked. OBA's remarkable wisdom, refreshing perspective, and mindset resonate deeply with me. Since then, I have been intentionally following her and her husband-Pst Boye Ajayi, who together embody an unparalleled depth of understanding and wisdom.

Mrs. Debola Deji- Kurunmi- DDK stands out for her remarkable leadership prowess and wisdom.

In my professional sphere- I admire Mrs Olufisola Folayan, Mrs Chinyere Okorocha and Mrs Ngozi Aderibigbe. These are women doing exceptionally well in the capital market and legal industry respectively.

What drives your passion for volunteering, and how do you choose the causes you get involved with?

What drives my passion for volunteering is my desire to make a meaningful impact in my community and generation.

I believe that everyone has something unique to offer, and volunteering allows me to share my skills, time, ideas, resources and energy when needed.

In choosing the causes I get involved with, I look for organizations whose values align with my personal values and goals. Secondly, I assess whether my contribution can make a tangible difference in the organisation.

If you could have any superpower to help you in your work, what would it be and why?

Uhmm, this question sounds interesting.

If I could have any superpower at all, it would be

a strong partnership and collaboration ability. It would drive social impact.

How do you stay motivated and continue to grow as a professional and as a mentor?

To stay motivated and grow as a professional and mentor, I do the following;

*Attend industry conferences and webinars

* Network with colleagues and renowned experts in my field.

* Seek mentorship from experienced professionals

* Reflect on my progress and adjust strategies when needed.

As a mentor;

--Collaborate with fellow mentors

* Seek training and certifications to add value to myself

* Solicit feedback from mentees also.

Success is relative. What does it mean to you?

In my opinion, Success is not defined by:

material wealth, social status, titles, achievements or external validation but rather, Success to me is a journey, not a destination. It means embracing progress, learning from setbacks, and staying true to my values and passions.

As a corporate lawyer, I strive for excellence, My Christian faith illuminates my path, guiding me to serve with compassion and empathy.

Leading a women's community, I empower others to unlock their potential, fostering a safe space for growth. Success is not solely about achievements but about living a life of purpose, balance, and joy.

What advice do you have for younger girls pursuing purpose?

My dear young girlies, I will coin my answer from some nuggets shared by Myles Munroe in his book on purpose.

Always remember that your purpose is the reason for your existence; without it, life is meaningless.

Darling, you were not born to merely exist; you were born to fulfill a purpose. Purpose is discovered, not created. In the journey of discovering purpose, seek God’s perspective on your life, never compare yourself with anyone and lastly, embrace your uniqueness. THERE IS ONLY ONE VERSION OF YOU.
