2024 in review: It could only have been God!
In every end, there is a beginning. On December 31st, 2023 at exactly 12p.m I was immersed in the worship and prayers during the annual cross-over service. The Word came for the year, after accepting it and I was charged to run with it. The new year was ushered with fireworks and an exchange of compliments. It was going to be a great year, I could feel it. The excitement and joy of witnessing the new year propelled me to launch into the deep and be prepared for all coming my way.
January is a special month for me given that it is my birth month. However, due to a foot injury in its first week, I was limping. I had difficulty going out on my birthday because of the foot injury but I still managed my predicament. The pain lingered for over two weeks and this made me appreciate the beauty of having feet and their functions. Having the ability to move is a testimony we overlook. My birthday came and it dawned on me that I have added a year. I was a year wiser, older and prettier. I had a prayer request. Though it did not manifest on my birthday, in the coming months I saw it come to pass. During that period, I needed money badly and surprisingly Coach Ikeoluwa asked for account details and sent me money. I got a job thanks to @BDMCreates which paid me in foreign currency though it was short-lived. However, I enjoyed it while it lasted. And shortly after another one came.
February is one month I dread because of Valentine's Day, especially as a single pringle. But it was not as bad as I presumed. Is there any place to bask in beauty and peace of mind than in the house of the Lord? Relationship-wise, I got into some relationships this year with three different guys who found me in different ways at different times through different means. I am hopeful that as the blade has appeared, the fruit will come forth. It could have been only God who orchestrates these kinds of meetings with the supposed one beyond my comprehension.
March I took a bold step and got baptised with water and the Holy Spirit. It was a glorious experience. The feeling was out of this world. I felt anew and it was like a rebirth this time into the household of God. I also got into the AIM One Marketing Mentorship Programme, an Aizehi Itua-initiative, under the tutelage of Mrs Funke Makinde who mentored me in setting actionable career goals and marketing.
April came with its own challenges but I surmounted. This year I took my walk with God seriously.
May was a major highlight of 2024. My father became an Octogenarian. The whole family had to converge in our hometown to celebrate his milestone. Touching our roots and reuniting with family after a long while brought joy and filled a void that only family can complete. A new page was opened working as a Marketing and Communication for an organisation.
July saw me starting to represent my organisation at major events. At the Africa Social Impact Summit 2024, I got to make new contacts. Also, I saw some old faces. There was also the Olatokunbo Foundation outreach which I graced as a representative of my organisation.
August blew my mind with the acceptance into the Custodian Mentorship Conference. I got to meet celebrities and influential people I admired from a distance.
September was about the Social Good Lagos event. The pictures of this particular event filled me with awe. They really came out well and I was looking peng.
October came with its own opportunities. Through the highs and lows, I still rose. I joined the Nigerian Women in PR committee to plan for their conference coming up in March. I was appointed to lead the Publication Committee.
Meanwhile, I changed the place of worship this year because of reasons best known to me. In November, I got inducted into the church's workforce after 5 weeks of serious teaching and drilling.
December I got to meet Pastor Femi Banigbe, he had preached a sermon long ago that changed my life completely. I also got to meet advertising guru, Mr 'Lolu Akinwunmi whom I blogged about learnings from his book- Skin to Skin.
This year was not bad. Everything kind of fell into place though I lost some connections and friends. However, I gained new connections. There was a struggle with my health. I developed a lump on my back that was a big concern. I had to do a scan and there were fears that it would emanate into something terrible. However, as it came it went. It started to bring out pus and following medication, it disappeared.
On my blog, I had a major collaboration with amazing women. Thank you to all of them who agreed to feature on my blog despite their busy schedule. Special thanks to Olayemi Mesogboriwon who bought me lunch for a job well done and up till now I have not recovered from that kind gesture.
After all was said and done, 2024 was the year...better than the previous obviously. I am looking forward to 2025 re-energised, renewed, reinvigorated and refreshed for all that it has in store.
Cheers to a prosperous 2025!
